As soon as you’re logged into WordPress you’ll be on an admin page called the Dashboard, think of this as the administration homepage.
- Running across the top of the page is the Admin Toolbar, this is visible the entire time you’re logged in to WordPress. The Toolbar contains a link to the homepage of your website and various shortcuts to other admin screens.
- Down the left-hand side is the main Admin Menu. Here you’ll find all the controls for adding and amending the content of your website, along with settings for controlling how your WordPress site looks and works.
- The main area of the Dashboard contains a few boxes giving general information about your website and shortcuts to some of the more common tasks. The boxes can be re-positioned by dragging and dropping, expanded or closed.
The Screen Options tab on this page enables you to decide which Meta Boxes are displayed.
You’ll also see the Help tab on this page.
