Although Fedant had an established website they decided it was in need of a redesign to bring it up to today’s standards. The website had grown over the years, which is pretty normal, but the additional pages and features had led to a complicated website which proved difficult to navigate and lacked focus.
Fedant is a voluntary regulatory body which ensures antenatal councillors meet minimum requirements; meaning soon to be parents can be confident in the choices they make.
Barry and Sam from Fedant explained which user groups their website had to appeal to, what information was relevant to those groups, and the software systems they used in the day to day running of the organisation.
The new website had to integrate with a couple of other systems; a membership and renewal database (amember) and a bespoke database of approved practitioners. The design was kept as simple as possible, with the focus on getting users to their relevant areas quickly. As part of the redesign we also agreed on some new ways to simplify and streamline the application process.
As Fedant were keen to be able to keep the website updated themselves we chose WordPress to handle the majority of the content – and Sam and Barry have got to grips with editing and updating their website very quickly.
UPDATEWe’ve since updated this website, read more about the updated version here.
