The are two ways to add a new Page to your WordPress website either;

In the top bar hover over the + New link, and in the dropdown click on Page.

Or in the left hand admin menu click on Pages then Add New. Alternatively hover over Pages and click Add New on the flyout menu that appears.

Give your Page a title, then add in your content to the main editor box.

The Publish Box explained

Here you can save your Page to continue working on it later by clicking the Save Draft button. You can check how your Page looks by clicking the Preview button.

Or if you’re ready to go live with your Page then click the Publish button. If you’re working on an already Published Page the button will say Update instead.

Status

Only Published Pages are visible to the public. If you’re working on a previously Published Page you can set the Page back to Draft to hide it again from visitors.

Visibility

Once published you can choose to have your page Public (default), Password protected, or Private. Private Pages can only be viewed by logged in users; you, and other registered users with certain Roles.

Publish

If you want to schedule your Page to be published in the future rather than immediately choose a date here.

Parent

You can select another Page as the parent of this Page (making the one you’re working on a Child Page).

Template

Some Theme and Plugins may offer additional Page Templates you can select, these allow you to create Pages with additional features or custom layouts.

The Featured Image Box explained

If your theme supports them then your Page can be assigned a Featured Image. Think of a Featured Image as a single image that represents your Page. How this is displayed on the public side of your website is dependent on the current theme your website is using. Learn how to Set a Featured image.
