It’s always nice when a customer is pleased enough with my work to use me again a few years later to redesign their website. Matt was very happy with the website we created five or so years ago but felt it could do with a bit of a refresh.

Five years is a long time in website terms, but the great thing about WordPress is that it’s a relatively simple task to change the look of a website but keep all of the content intact.

I set about creating a new theme for Matt’s website, based on the Genesis Framework. I needed to create a couple of custom functions to migrate some of the portfolio content store in custom slides into new Gallery Blocks to work nicely within WordPress’s new Gutenberg editor. This makes editing the website a lot more visual and intuitive.

I look forward to hearing how Matt gets on with the new simpler editing experience.
