I was recommended to Craig from The Vital Spark by one of my existing clients in the Marine Industry. Craig was looking for help moving his website forwards a few steps.

The Vital Sparks existing website was built using the Squarespace website builder which I admit I’m not at all familiar with. Some of Craig’s requests were, I felt, a bit beyond what was achievable using Squarespace so I suggested we look at using WordPress instead where we could have complete control over how things operate and look.

As we would be moving from using Squarespace to WordPress I needed to be comfortable that they would be able to get to grips with editing a WordPress website. So early on I created a demo website and set a few tasks to see how they got on.

Now that WordPress with its Gutenberg editor makes creating content a lot more visual it wasn’t long before they were getting the hang of things.

I created a simple website using the Genesis Framework and a custom child theme to match with their ideas of how they wanted the website to look.
