Church Website Design

Claudia from St.John the Baptist catholic church in Westerham, Surrey asked us to re-design the church website for a fresher look and to make it easier to use. The existing website had served them well over the years but lacked the flexibility and control the church needed to organise their news, weekly events and other information; this led to their information being spread over various parts of the website and made it difficult to find exactly what you were looking for.

The old website with Moonfruit

The new website is designed mainly around a calendar of events. This allows visitors multiple views of what’s happening at the church; daily, weekly, monthly etc. The revised home page displays an rss feed from the Vatican along with the latest news from St. John’s and a list of events happening in the next 7 days. There’s also a link to the newly installed church webcam allowing those that can’t attend the option to view a live video stream from the Church.

The new church website is built on the WordPress platform and uses a responsive framework – so will adapt to whatever device is being used to view the website.

Thank you ever so much for all your help and support whilst updating the website. It has been received very well and at present working well for me too! The new area with the publishing help is very helpful thanks.
